Pepe Engineering History
The history of Pepe Engineering dates back to July 1960. Initially limited to residential land development and planning, the company expanded to include work for local municipalities including the City of Houston, for Harris and surrounding counties, and for the State of Texas.
In the 1970's, Pepe expanded its capabilities to include architectural and environmental engineering. The architectural group successfully designed apartment homes, town homes, condominiums, and office buildings. Since the 1980’s, the firm has also served industrial clients and commercial developers. Two prominent projects are the designs of the 52,000-square-foot Raveneaux Country Clubhouse and the company's own 56,000-square-foot office building, which later housed the offices of the American Cancer Society.
International experience was acquired when Pepe completed infrastructure projects in Nigeria in the 1970’s, and a variety of turnkey design and procurement projects in Kazakhstan in the early 1990’s.
Pepe Engineering has completed a substantial number of diverse projects for its clients, including the project management, design, and construction management of hundreds of miles of roadways, highways, bridges, local and regional detention facilities, water storage, transmission, and distribution systems, and sewage diversion tunnels and collection systems. Pepe also designed numerous water and wastewater treatment plants, including pump and lift stations.
Over the years, Pepe has shown an extreme sensitivity to the environment and its increasing importance to society, and to the impact of new rules and regulations on the ability to conduct business. Sustainable and Low Impact Designs are special areas of interest for the firm and its experienced staff.
